I went directly to the Air Force from high school. Unfortunately, the AF never sent me anywhere terribly interesting. My only permanant stations in almost 12 years were in North Dakota (yes, it's cold in the winter) and Washington State. It took me several years of Air Force time to realize how important a degree was. In 1999, I received a math-ed degree in Washington. I've done some graduate work with University of Alaska, Fairbanks and University of Northern Colorado, Greeley. My most interesting year was spent teaching in a small Eskimo village on the coast of Norton Sound in Alaska.
